Connecting bells using the Multi Bell Interface

If you are using David Bagley's Multi Bell Interface to connect your bells to the PC running Abel, David will advise you on the sensors and activators to use, and on connecting the Interface to your PC. It connects to the serial port, allowing up to 12 bells to be connected through a single port. If you have a second serial port available, you can use it for connecting switches for controlling Abel, see Control switches. When you have connected the Multi Bell Interface to the PC, you need to configure Abel as described in How to configure Abel to use bell sensors and check that the program can detect the signals from the Interface.

A circuit diagram for a photohead suitable for use with the Multi Bell Interface is given in Optical sensors for the Multi Bell Interface.
